My Special Place
It’s a wonderful place to be. A place where I can feel at home and yet take the role of someone else. A place where the clock is always ticking and time is valuable. I can feel secure, privileged and yet nervous. It has splendid, fresh smelling, glossy floors, like they were recently waxed for my team’s arrival. My special place is where I feel as if I own the world and my decisions are important to many. Where all thoughts and eyes are drawn to me to see what my next move will be. When I am at this special place, I have an adrenaline rush, my heart is pumping with exhilaration and the only thing on my mind is victory. The crowd, the loud voices shout as I struggle to stay focused and ready to meet the expectations of many. People, young and old, boys and girls, watch in awe. I sometimes call the shots, and sometimes others call the shots. But, I always try to play smart, and with control. I never forget my goal which is to win! My opponents know they’ll have to work extra hard for a victory. I want to be the talk of the game, and the favorite of many, making fans smile with happiness when I’m at my special place, the Basketball Court.
