The Kendrick Park Watchable Wildlife Trail

The Kendrick Park Watchable Wildlife Trail is close to my heart. I was one of the many people who worked so hard to make it happen.

The trail is very accessible. It’s across HWY 180 from the Chapel of the Holy Dove ...and just down the road from the new home of the legendary White Buffalo.

It has a short paved loop and a longer path—both winding through the edge of our ponderosa pine and aspen forest.

There are interpretive signs along the way, aspen bark gnawed by elk, views of the effects of two horrendous forest fires, birds and squirrels and signs of other inhabitants, parts of a long-ago corral and a spectacular view of the Peaks.

It’s a nice place to spend an hour (or more!) ...a place to enjoy the fresh air, stretch your legs and learn a little about the magic of northern Arizona.

...and there's a potty, too.
