A Place Not Human Built
Some feel the stars
are beyond us
Too distant, too faint,
casting no heat
Shining motes
in infinite space
Unreachable, indifferent.
beyond the human heart.
Have they never lain
on Earth’s back
Amid a sea
of gramma curls?
Tree cricket songs
in the night air
Or crystal frost
in blowing whirls
The lights
of the Ages
Suns
in the Night
Wheeling slowly
Above
Filling our souls
with eternal light.
