Our Sacred Spots
Ms. Reece is a second-grade teacher at Pine Forest Charter School. Her entire class submitted drawings of “Sacred Places.” This is Ms. Reece’s own poem.
Bouncing on lovely, strong branches,
I view the beautiful, peaceful sky above.
I smell the gorgeous flowers surrounding me.
In the subway of trees, I feel happy, protected,
and invisible.
On windy days, I feel perfectly safe, as though
I have wings and I can fly.
Relaxing in green bushes, I feel free and in
harmony with the earth.
I feel comfortable in my sacred spot, like I do
with my friends.
My sacred spot is wonderful.
I feel loved.
