Cheii Mountain
You stand so tall and proud,
So great and so holy,
Where you can talk to the gods and still sit still to hold a
Conversation with us mortals.
I feel safe walking at your feet.
To lay my head down to sleep when the time is appropriate.
Awake when the sun touches your peak
With a small town that was put in front of you
I see you look down on us as wee look in the sky to
See the top of your head.
With such a humble soul, you watch us do our business,
Listen to our conversation and not repeat a word.
I was once told a story of you.
Only told in the winter, whispered, and
Paid with the most sincere attention too.
From creation you were immortal
From the beginning you looked after my kind
You have my attention.
The view of your mass beauty,
The sense of spiritual safety,
I listen to your every word,
When the birds sing,
When the trees breathe,
And the animals, that make a home on your back,
Tell the stories of your past
There are times when my kind cannot see you
With your mass body,
With your splendid beauty, and your beautiful songs
Cheii Mountain,
I still see you.
