Heritage Square
No matter the season, sunny or overcast skies, sitting in Heritage Square is a truly cosmopolitan experience. Dozens of people pass through each hour. Some choose to sit and take in the downtown, others find it a convenient place to rest. It’s a place to grab an ice cream treat relax. It’s a place to watch others as they carry on about their day.
On some occasions, the hustle and bustle of downtown life takes a second seat to something more wonderful to observe. Every now and then a family will visit the Square. Parent and child, in any number of combinations, find the open expanse among the tightly developed heart of Flagstaff an irresistible lure. Children run, play, explore under the watchful eye of mom or dad.
Sometimes you have the chance to see a moment of bonding and sharing between child and adult. They may watch people pass by together or they may each find different sights to examine. Whichever it may be, to be a distant observer of these precious moments in public is truly a delight.
There is much to experience in Heritage Square and even more to watch. From people to families to pets, I never find this place lacking in the performance of life’s little moments.
