Mars Hill at Night
Although the view from Mars Hill is spectacular during the daylight, there is certainly an otherworldly effect the darkness has on Flagstaff. Atop Mars Hill one can sit and look out into the faint orange glow of the city beneath them. There is a quiet that consumes the onlooker, broken only by occasional gusts of wind or the sound of another visitor making their way up the hill to park and stare out over the city.
Mars Hill is also a place to observe the city at night with someone else at your side. It is a place to reflect as you stare down into the subdued lights that leave the night sky black. You can feel alone but not removed as there is just enough activity below to remind you that the city is alive, and that you are part of it.
Whether it is used for a place of reflection, a temporary escape, or a method of entertainment filled with soft dancing lights, Mars Hill offers solace and delight no matter the season.
